Monday, September 10, 2007AoA condemns Board's expansionThe Association of Alumni’s executive committee, which represents the 68,000 living Dartmouth alums, has come out against the Governance Committee's decision overhaul the 116 year precedent of parity on the Board of Trustees. As Chairman of the Board Ed Haldeman declared several days ago, the Board will expand its membership from 16 to 24 trustees by adding 8 charter trustees. That makes 8 competitively elected trustees and 16 appointed trustees. We still await word from the AoA about its official course of action in light of the Board’s violation of the 1891 agreement. Also, the Board’s expansion is receiving national press with this piece in today’s New York Times. Posted by Emily Ghods at 1:45 PM Comments I support these guys, but c'mon: "A more expansive response, including our proximate course of action, will be issued after we have had more time to digest and deliberate the full implications of the trustee decision." And maybe Wright isn't immortal. Posted by — September 10, 2007 2:21 PM Yo, it's spelled "Amateur Nite." Posted by — September 10, 2007 2:29 PM Post a Comment (we enforce our comments policy) |
