Thursday, March 28, 2002Sex for One: Women's Resource Center favorite Betty Dodson, "noted" sexologist and author of Sex for One, a guide to masturbation (available at the WRC), has been written up this week in Salon. Is it for her forthcoming book, the title of which we won't even print here? Not exactly. The news is that Dodson, 72 and a well-known denunciator of "codependent partner sex" (i.e., sex with another person), has been dating her 25 year old business manager. No quotes from Dodson or her partner here; common decency prevents it. Common decency also requires that I warn readers about the picture accompanying Salon's article: no, it's not racy but troubling nonetheless.
